LYCRA®: is a synthetic fiber known for its exceptional elasticity. LYCRA® is both stronger and more durable than rubber and was invented in 1959. Often used in socks to make them more elastic. By using as little as 2-3% LYCRA®, the elasticity is increased by 25%. This in turn leads to an optimal fit and ensures that they sit well on the foot, even after many washes.
